Community Councils represent the views of the community to The Highland Council and other public bodies operating in their area. They act to further the interests of their communities and are consulted on planning applications within their area and can object to the granting, renewal or transfer of liquor licences.

The following Community Councils each cover part of Inverness West Ward:

Ballifeary and Muirtown CC areas fall wholly within the ward as does most of the population of Inverness West CC.

Only parts of Dalneigh CC and Park CC are within Inverness West ward.

Community Council Elections
Community Council Elections are held every four years, with the most recent elections held in November 2019 across the whole of the Highland Council area.

The Scheme of Establishment governing Community Councils, setting out how they should operate including elections, membership rules and meeting arrangements, was reviewed and updated in September 2019.
